Great Horned Owl

This owl came down to near water level in this marshy drainage area maybe to hunt but I'm guessing to get out of a territory of another owl. He was roughed-up a bit and stayed around here a few days in S. Central Alaska's marshy coastal wooded area. Owls and other raptors are territorial hunters and do not tolerate others encroaching.
